Have you ever had some success with a particular diet or training program and then when you tried to do it again you didn’t get the same results?🤔🤔
When you figure out what works for your body -whether it be training or diet- you need to understand that that’s what’s working for your body RIGHT NOW.📆⠀
It won’t work FOREVER🙅🏻♀️⠀
Your physical body changes constantly. So do outside life circumstances. What may work for your 20 year old self may be the OPPOSITE of what works for your 30 year old self and you may have different stresses today vs a couple months ago.
But even more than that your body can change from today versus yesterday due to the circumstances of your day!!⠀
Although some things may always have worked for you in the past doesn’t mean it’s going to continue to always work for you.☝🏼
For example, I once had a client who has eaten oatmeal every morning for the last 6 years because oatmeal has historically always made her feel good and she attest the oatmeal was the reason she lost weight. Even though her physical appearance hasn’t changed for the better over the last 5 years, in fact, now it’s worse now (otherwise she would not have asked for my weigh loss help!) So we remove the oatmeal and replaced it with healthy fats and her body instantly started to change. Now, should she eat that breakfast every day for the next 6 years? HELL NO! It would be wise for her to switch back and forth and even try new combinations frequently.
Allow me to explain WHY that is…
Your body is a beautiful complex machine. It wants to adapt to any and every stimulus you give it.
The reason you initially see success when you start ANY diet is because you’re starting something new that your body isn’t used to so your body is going to have to adapt to it and thus that is why you see change.
But then, once it adapts then you stop seeing changes.
However, if you give it another stimulus to adapt to, you’ll see change again, and then again you’ll eventually plateau.
THIS is why listening to your body is a constant practice. You never really have the final answer for what works because there is no final answer… it’s always changing… always different.
I want you to think about the last time you started ANY style diet (like Keto, Atkins, Paleo, Vegan, etc) You might have seen some success in the beginning and then you stalled out. That’s because your body adapted to the new stimulus but then you didn’t change anything else. You just stayed right where you were and so your body did the same.
This is where manipulating macronutrients will progress you forward!
If you were to keep that same diet style but continue to manipulate your macronutrient numbers regularly, you would continue to see the results because using macros is a metric system.
When you get really specific on macronutrient intake and you stall out, you can easily make adjustments and continue on with your progress. Being able to manipulate those numbers to be able to get the results you want is really really valuable for long term success.
This is why learning macronutrients is a huge key to your success.
Luckily for you, you don’t have to figure it all out on your own because I created a 6 week course to Master Your Macros so that you can continue to see progress no matter what dieting style you use!
